Adrian Baker RN
Adrian joins us from the NHS where he worked for three years as a community staff nurse. Adrian has recently completed his Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescriber qualification at De Montfort University.
Prior to nursing Adrian came from a performing arts background, and had various theatre roles, he even worked as a Karaoke Host on a Caribbean Liner! He originally met MBNS specialist nurse Paula Shurrock when she was teaching on a course he attended. After basic training Adrian was inspired to follow in Paula’s footsteps and apply to work with us at MBNS. His long-term objective is to become a Qutis Franchisee (modelled on MBNS). From August 2011 onwards, he will be working at MBNS on Fridays & Saturdays.
Adrian’s new job title is Nurse Aesthetician and he will be specialising in the Light, Heat and Energy Therapies (Laser Hair Removal, Radio Frequency Skin Tightening and eMatrix, IPL Advanced Skin Rejuvenation & Cosmetic Teeth Whitening).
Adrian’s treatments in his own words…
“Having lost seven and a half stone in weight I also noticed some loss in volume to my cheeks. Although I looked and felt far better as a result of losing the weight, I felt concerned that it had left my face looking a little flat and sunken. Marea very kindly consulted with me on this and I received Restylane® Sub-Q dermal filler to my cheek and mid face. I am delighted with the results. Better still, the treatment was carried out using a blunt cannula, this was not as sore as a normal injection and I had hardly any bruising. I have also had botulinum toxin treatment for excessive sweating in my arm pits, which quite literally changed my life. I can now wear whatever clothes I like and don’t have to worry about great big wet patches appearing under my arms! Quite recently I had the new eMatrix treatment for plumping the skin and resurfacing for acne scarring. The results are gradual and I am continuing to notice a new elasticity and smoother skin.
Having had a variety of treatments myself, I like to think that I can empathize with my patients regarding their concerns and can support, counsel and treat them accordingly. By offering a personal, tailored approach I can address their skin health needs.”
This is a favourite quote of mine:
A thing of beauty is a joy forever: It's loveliness increases: It will never pass into nothingness.
