Recently I came upon several of my old passports showing me ageing from  16 to 51 – what a shock that was!  As I was looking at the girl progressing into a young woman and then a mature (!) woman looking back at me, I realised just how much a person changes throughout their life, both inside and out.  Seeing that 16 year old girl with her chubby face full of collagen was quite the eye opener!

Then looking onwards to my 20’s, 30’s and 40’s you can see how gradually over time, the face loses collagen and smile lines of experience, as I like to call them, begin to appear!

Hopefully we can accept that we will never be 16 again, (nor do I want to be), but as mother nature takes her course, then I hope just to be the best I can be at 51.  Yes I do have Botox around my crow’s feet and I do advocate an excellent skincare regime with iS Clinical products plus IPL Photorejuvenation to eliminate the sun damage I incurred whilst growing up in Guernsey during the 60’s and 70’s.

We here at MBNS and Qutis clinics believe in making you look your natural best.  I’m happy with that ethos.  I just want to keep my skin looking healthy and feeding it with good vitamins and protecting it with an SPF.

So on reflection, looking at myself through the years, I’m happy that my skin has been looked after, and I’m grateful to my mother also for pretty good genes!

MBNS and Qutis clinics offer non invasive treatments for total skin health.  If you would like to find out more about our treatments such as wrinkle treatmentsIPL permanent hair removal and dermal fillers, kindly call MBNS on 01844 213007 or Qutis on 01993 704050 and we will get back to you swiftly. Help for stretch marks

KIT MEADS

Being the daughter of an aesthetic nurse specialist, skincare and health maintenance is in my blood!  As a wife and young mum of two energetic sons, my skincare regime has to be cost effective and simple.

A combination of Super Serum and eMatrix is great for stretch marks

Kit B & A

Before and after stretch mark treatment with eMatrix and Super Serum

I use iS Clinical Super Serum (see video below) on my face and use it on my tummy.  I have had a noticeable improvement in a few stretch marks from my pregnancies with both Super Serum and a treatment called radio frequency skin tightening (eMatrix)

What eMatrix does for stretch marks:

eMatrix treatment is a non-laser and non-light based treatment that uses radio frequency technology to place the heat energy effectively into the skin where it can produce significant dermal impact and collagen stimulation with minimal epidermal disruption. In simple terms, the heat produced under the surface of the skin causes it to repair itself and produce more collagen which rises to the surface so smoothing out scars and stretch marks.

If you would like to find out more about the many skin treatments we have at MBNS and Qutis Clinics, kindly call MBNS on 01844 213007 or Qutis on 01993 704050 and we will get back to you swiftly. Skin resurfacing – great results with eMatrix

June 4th, 2014

http://mbnsclinic.co.uk/treatments/ematrix/Since we at MBNS and Qutis Clinics started providing skin resurfacing treatments with eMatrix, (also called sublative rejuvenation) we have had some amazing results.  The treatment is fantastic if you have any of the following:  acne scarring, acneic skin, lines and wrinkles, skin irregularities, bags under the eyes, and stretchmarks.

‘The healing begins when the collagen starts to rebuild itself and pushes newly produced collagen to the surface”.

Skin resurfacing with ematrix works this way:  heat emitting radio waves are placed on to the surface of the skin, heating it up and blasting deep into the dermis.  This in turn causes the collagen underneath the skin to be pushed apart.  The healing begins when the collagen starts to rebuild itself and pushes newly produced collagen to the surface. This then improves the surface of the skin so acne scarring and lines and wrinkles to name two are greatly reduced.

Downtime for this treatment is a few days, but we provide excellent camouflage make up called Lycogel, that contains an anti inflammatory which really encourages the skin to heal quickly.

Below is a patient of ours who had suffered with acne throughout her life and was left with scarring and extremely sore skin.

After having had microneedle therapy and C02 laser resurfacing, she still did not see any improvement, so she came in for a consultation with our specialist nurses and was treated twice with eMatrix, six weeks apart.

She is absolutely floored at the vast and speedy improvement of tone and texture to her skin.  Here are her before and after photos taken 12 weeks apart after 2 treatments:

Spotlight on an MBNS Patient: Margaret L

May 23rd, 2014

Margaret receiving her ‘First Lady’ award!

Our nurses have been treating patients for over 17 years now at MBNS in Thame and Qutis Clinics in Witney, and many of our original clients are still  coming to see us.  As you can imagine, their skin looks amazing and they really do look their natural best.

Speaking recently to Margaret, one of our long standing patients, who at the age of 73 is still extremely fit, healthy and youthful.  Her outlook on life really does keep her feeling and looking great, both on the inside and outside.

In her own words:

” I love keeping fit and young.  I exercise regularly and still travel from Yorkshire to Oxfordshire to get my Botox and dermal fillers done”.

“I even use their skincare in the form of Super Serum Advance  and Youth Complex.  I would never go to another clinic, as clearly they do the best job on my face and I do the rest by feeling confidant enough to exercise with younger people!”

“Last week I completed the 25 mile Rotherham Round Walk and because I was the first female to finish I was given the The First Lady Award!  I was also given a shield which will have my name engraved on.   It’s got all the winners names on, going back to 1992. I completed it in 5 hours 49 minutes and I walked with the same young man that I had walked with last year,  and if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have completed it in that time!”

If you would like to arrange a consultation with one of our specialist nurses, at MBNS or QUTIS clinics, please call MBNS on 01844 213007 or Qutis on 01993 704050.  If you would prefer to contact us by email, please CLICK HERE FOR MBNS and HERE FOR QUTIS.

Dermal Filler Treatment at MBNS using Juvederm Ultra

Here at MBNS and Qutis Clinics we find that there is no better way to tell others about what we do than our own patients doing it for us!

A dermal filler called Juvederm Ultra was used

Post procedure, she wanted to tell everyone just how happy she is with the results.

Here is a short video from a patient of ours, who decided to have  dermal filler treatment recently at MBNS Clinic in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Post procedure, she wanted to tell everyone just how happy she is with the results. Our nurse Marea used a dermal filler called Juvederm Ultra.  It contains an anesthetic and so the procedure is comfortable and quick, and the results are so natural.  There’s  no magic in this video, no soft lighting, and no make up – just the facts!

If you would like to make an appointment for a consultation with one of our specialist nurses, please call MBNS on 01844 213007 or their sister clinic Qutis Witney on 01993 704050.

We provide treatments for wrinkle reduction, dermal fillers, IPL permanent hair removal and mole and skin tag removal to name a few.  Our award winning specialist nurses have been treating for over 17 years in the Oxfordshire area.

Post treatment bruising? – We’ve got it covered!

March 11th, 2014

The nurse team here at MBNS and Qutis Clinics look after our clients’ skin by keeping it healthy in a variety of ways.  We are in the business of skin rejuvenation and so there are occasions when our specialist nurses have to get underneath the surface of the skin in order to get the desired results.

A few examples of this are:  Treating with dermal fillers or a wrinkle relaxant or  even light treatments where the face is heated such as eMatrix for skin resurfacing, skin tightening or IPL Photorejuvenation (for the removal of sun spots and red veins).

If bruising does occur, we are at the rescue,  armed with good tips and products to camouflage the skin while it repairs and rejuvenates.

The unfortunate downside of this is that there is the possibility of some bruising or redness that can occur post treatment.   When this does occur, we are at the rescue,  armed with good tips and products to camouflage the skin while it repairs and rejuvenates.

Bear in mind also that there are a couple of things you can do before having treatments that can help the unfortunate bruise not be as apparent or even there at all.  Our nurses suggest that forty eight hours prior to treatment, do not drink any alcoholic beverages or take any ibuprofen.  Both of these can make your blood a little thinner, and some bruising may occur.

Having said that, here are our tips on helping you disguise the ‘treatment bruise’.

1.  Smooth on a good primer  – we like Youngblood’s Mineral Primer (Youngblood line available at Qutis Clinics) and also Bare Minerals Prime Time Primer for a smooth start.

2.  Next mix some iS Clinical’s Hydra Cool serum with Lycogel camouflage make up.  Both Hydra Cool Serum and Lycogel have anti inflammatory properties which calm and soothe the skin.  This combination of products easily glides over the skin evenly covering up the bruised area and blending in with the rest of the face.

4. Then brush over some mineral make up.  We like both Youngblood and Bare Minerals Foundations in a variety of shades as both are 100% crushed minerals that contain zinc which also has healing properties.

5. Finally finish with YoungBlood Hi-Definition Perfecting Powder or Bare Minerals Mineral Veil.
