Mail hair removal is available at MBNS Clinic

Keeping on with the popular treatments for our male clients, it has been reported this week in the Daily Mail Online that more and more younger men are removing their body hair.  To read the full story, click HERE.

We here at MBNS and Qutis Clinics have been providing permanent hair removal for both men and women for over 15 years, but the growing popularity of our male market is becoming extensive.

The article in the Daily Mail reveals a great increase in males of ages 16 to 24 removing their body hair with shaving and waxing.  They say that the increase in popularity is because they are following the lead of many sportsmen such as cyclists and swimmers who prefer to remove their body hair so as to be quicker or more streamlined in their sporting performance.

Well we think we can go one better than that!  Our nurse specialists treat body hair with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).  The light is attracted to the pigment in the hair and it is removed at the follicle killing the full hair cycle – permanently!  After a few treatments, the hair is gone forever – what could be easier!

Beard bumps no more

October 7th, 2014

I had suffered with a really painful rash post shaving for a few years.  My skin was bumpy and often I had spots that were filled with pus – not an attractive look!

Pseudo-folliculitis barbae or beard bumps

I really was at my wits end when my wife decided to go to MBNS in Thame for some permanent hair removal treatment.  I drove her  to her first consultation as her car was being serviced that day and I waited for her in the reception area.

Sitting down with a coffee, I watched a video that explained the treatments and I noticed that permanent hair removal might be right for me too.  My neck was painful with many in growing hairs, and the thought of having no hairs returning was music to my ears!

When my wife came down after her consultation and first treatment, I asked the nurse, Paula, if I might be able to speak to her also.  She said she would happily have a chat with me, and so I asked her to look at the ingrown hairs on my neck.  Paula told me that this was in fact pseudo-folliculitis barbae or beard bumps as they are commonly called and that treatment was possible with IPL permanent hair removal, the same treatment that my wife was having for her bikini line.  I decided to book in to have my first treatment and now I am on the road to a beard bump free neck!

The nurses and staff at MBNS and Qutis Clinics are very experienced professionals who know what they are talking about!  They have been dealing with all areas of skin health for over 15 years and this group (MBNS and Qutis Clinic) is the biggest in Oxfordshire.    The results are coming along and I am so happy that my wife decided to come here, and on that day I could drive her!  Thanks so much MBNS and Qutis, my bumpy road is now much smoother!

The vital consultation at MBNS and Qutis Clinics

October 3rd, 2014

When I first meet a patient, my main priority, after a great cup of coffee and a chat, is to get them to face the mirror and tell me what they see and feel when they see themselves. This is a fundamental part of an MBNS and Qutis Clinic consultation, as a patient treatment choice is based upon what they see and not solely my professional opinion. For some patients, this can be hard if they experience low self esteem, so instead we focus on talking about how they feel and what aspect of their appearance makes them feel like that.

It’s all about providing patient centred care really, rather than traditional consultations where the practitioner just tells you what you need, from their eyes.

We like to think that the consultation is teamwork between patient and experienced nurse practitioner

This is then combined with teamwork between practitioner and patient to work together and decide

what treatment options would be most suitable for the patient’s own needs. We do of course use our professional expertise to guide the patient, but it is ultimately the patient that must consider their treatment options and take time to think if they wish to proceed to treatment.

When it actually comes to a treatment, such as a dermal filler to replace lost volume in the face, I always like to involve the patient throughout the procedure by handing them a mirror, in order to use their opinion as I sculpt the facial contours. After all, no one knows your face better than you. After a treatment at MBNS and Qutis clinics, a two week follow up is included for most treatment options, and allows us as professionals to make sure everything is ok, and most importantly to see how you feel about your treatment results.

This combination of patient involvement and expert opinion, is often the very reason why we have so many patients returning for repeat treatments, because they feel their treatments have been tailored personally for them, rather than someone else’s eyes being the sole judge of what you want to achieve.

The Aesthetic Nurse Practitioners at MBNS and Qutis clinics provide seventeen years of experience and are highly qualified and trained to the highest standards in order to perform all of the treatments we offer, such as wrinkle relaxing injections, dermal fillers, collagen stimulating injections, mole and skin tag removal, excessive underarm sweatingacne and rosacea care.

The Nurse team is also complimented by team of highly trained Aestheticians, who are able to provide care in laser hair reduction, red vein and pigmentation reduction, Radio frequency skin tightening, medical facials, and specialist skincare and ID bare Minerals make up advice.
