Bloke-Tox: The Bloke’s Guide To Cosmetic & Anti Sweating Treatments
Some blokes get fed up of looking tired all the time and wonder what they can do to help reduce wrinkles? Even excessive underarm sweating gets blokes down. At MBNS/Qutis Advanced Skin Clinics, Botox Thame and Botox Witney we understand that blokes want to dispel the myths about ‘Botox’ treatments for men and in our blogs we will tell you what you are missing out on!
Not many blokes realise that there are many treatments that are available to men and gentle cosmetic injections are not just for the likes of Gordon Ramsey! In fact, non-surgical treatments are becoming more and more popular for men and we at MBNS/Qutis Advanced Skin Clinics, Botox Thame and Botox Witney promote a natural look so you can rest assured you won’t leave looking like a Muppet.
Generally, there are two types of treatments: Botulinum toxin (commonly known by the trade names – BOTOX™) and dermal fillers.
Botox works by temporarily weakening the muscles of the face causing the overlying wrinkles to fade. Dermal fillers work by replacing the volume under the skin that is lost as a natural result of ageing.
Underarm sweating? We can help there too!
Botulinum toxin products generally last between 3-6 months, but this can vary between people and some patients notice effects for up to 9 months when it’s used to combat underarm sweating. Dermal fillers tend to last longer. On average filler treatments can last between 6 to 9 months but again some clients may have longer lasting effects up to twelve months.
At MBNS/Qutis Advanced Skin Clinics, Botox Oxfordshire & Botox Witney we offer no obligation consultations with our experienced nurse practitioners, which include a preliminary health questionnaire and an assessment of the wrinkles or sweating conditions that need treating. Once we are all happy to proceed our nurses treat you with care & understanding. The whole process takes less than half an hour.
At MBNS/Qutis Advanced Skin Clinics, Botox Aylesbury & Botox Witney we have offered these treatments for over 12 years and we pride ourselves by offering you comprehensive after treatment advice and a follow up appointment for a review if you need it, at no extra cost.

SKIN AND AIR POLLUTION
As you age, your skin naturally begins to lose moisture and elasticity; however, there are factors that can speed up this ageing process. It’s common knowledge that sun exposure causes wrinkles and other premature signs of ageing, and many people now limit their time in the sun and wear sunscreen to protect their skin. We are used to protecting ourselves from the sun, but what can we do to limit our exposure to air pollution – particularly in urban areas? Pollution is one of the main sources of skin damage because toxins in the air cause skin to age prematurely, especially on the face, neck and hands.
Smog, dirt and dust in the air can clog pores, cause acne and give skin a dull, grey appearance.
Also, free radicals can deplete oxygen in skin cells and decrease collagen production, which leads to wrinkles, fine lines and rough, dry patches. Long-term exposure to air pollution can also cause skin allergies, eczema, asthma, and blood vessel damage.
To protect your skin from air pollution, it’s important to wash your face twice daily. At MBNS & Qutis Clinics we suggest iS Clinical’s Cleansing Complex to thoroughly clean the skin, then exfoliate using serums such as Super Serum and Active Serum. You should also use a daily advanced clinical moisturiser such as Youth Complex which has expanded hyaluronic microspheres which smoothes the skin, and wrinkle free skin will trap fewer pollutants. Clinical studies show that using products that contain antioxidants combat pollutants in the skin. Drinking more water can also help because it hydrates your skin and increases cell production. Replacing the skin’s moisture and barrier properties to pollution can also be helped by daily application of iS Clinical’s Hydra Cool.
MBNS Clinic in Thame has been treating skin for over twelve years, why not call now to arrange a consultation with one of the specialist nurses on 01844 213007 or fill out the form HERE and we will get back to you swiftly!

Do you suffer from uneven pigmentation on your skin? Do you have any brown (age) spots that are the result of sun damage? Would you prefer for your complexion to be more even?
Before and After 5 treatments with IPL and iS Clinical’s White Lightening
Well, here at MBNS in Thame, we have several products and treatments that can help with evening out skin tone and removing sun/age spots on the skin. We have a three pronged approach to this: IPL, White Lightening and SPF
1. INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL) This treatment targets the pigmented areas with a light energy which initially darkens the area and after a few days, the brown spots slough off when washing. We also treat necks, décolletage and hands! You will probably need several treatments to get the best results, but IPL therapy also increases collagen production in the skin making it healthier and fuller, in short, it is a fantastic photo facial.
Available in a complex and a serum
2. Working hand in hand with IPL treatments for uneven pigmentation is a great product by the iS Clinical range called WHITE LIGHTENING™ which is a distinctive formula containing botanical ingredients such as mushroom extract that lightens skin and Norwegian sea kelp that gently exfoliates and prevents new pigment from forming. White Lightening is available in a complex and a serum. On consultation, your nurse will go through which would be the correct product for your skin.
iS Clinical’s SPF 50 – to be used ALL YEAR ROUND!
3. iS Clinical’s SPF Factor 50 is your protection against the sun, your moisturiser AND your prevention from these brown spots from returning. You should be using SPF daily, not just in the summer months!
So, what are the results from combining IPL and White Lightening?
Lighter, brighter skin
Reduction of hyperpigmented areas
Skin feels moisturised and softer
Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
So if you would like to find out more about IPL Photorejuvenation and iS Clinical’s White Lightening, or any of the other services or treatments we offer at MBNS such as dermal fillers, botox or IPL permanent hair removal, kindly call us on 01844 213007 to book a consultation with one of our nurse specialists, or fill out the form HERE and we will get back to you swiftly.

Having just got back from a winter sun holiday really made me appreciate my iS Clinical SPF 50. I bought 2 shades: brown and translucent, and they both worked equally well on my skin.
Anne using iS Clinical’s SPF 50 whilst on holiday this Christmas and New Year
I was lucky enough to travel to Maui, one of the Hawaiian islands for a three week holiday this Christmas, but was very aware that my skin had not seen the sun for a good few months beforehand.
This fantastic SPF served more than for the purpose of sunscreen as it is a hydrator as well.
I knew that I had to be careful as the rays were powerful, and also I do not like the sun on my face at all. So, I was well equipped with the three “S’s” namely: shades, sunhat and sunscreen!
This fantastic SPF served more than for the purpose of sunscreen as it is a hydrator as well. The darker shade was fantastic for evening all over the body, as it gave me a nice glow, and kept my skin soft and moisturised. The translucent one was perfect for daytime and kept the dangerous rays away from my face.
For the month of January, MBNS are offering a fantastic deal on iS Clinical products: Buy 3 products and get a Fire and Ice medical facial absolutely FREE (worth £100).
So why not call us on 01844 213007 today to order yours, or go straight to our online shop and order them – as always, shipping is free.
