The Mail reported today (a big news day obviously!) that dear little Harry Styles of One Direction fame has got bad skin! They put it down to him burning the candle at both ends, jet lag and little sleep! Here’s the full article for those who need to know more detail! (Harry’s bad skin!)
Time and time again we at MBNS get mums bringing in their adult, yet still teenage children (we treat 0ver 18’s) asking for help during this difficult time in a young person’s life . And we can help them every time.
MBNS is an advanced skin clinic and our main aim to make you reach your skin’s health goals. We know that many young adults like to burn the candle at both ends and leave little time to looking after their skin, that’s why the iS Clinical Range is perfect for those who just don’t have time.
This is all you have to do:
1. Wash with Cleansing Complex and rinse off with warm water.
2. Next use a few drops of Pro Heal Serum which is packed full of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties that is great for acne. It also provides UV Protection against sun damage – all in one little bottle.
3. Followed by SPF 50 to protect the skin and use as your daily moisturiser which is oil free.
4. At night, repeat step 1 and use a few drops of Active Serum which among other things will stop those pesky spots from coming back.
All of this takes less than 2 minutes to do and it will keep the skin spot free and protected.
If you would like to find out more about MBNS and skin health in general, kindly ring us on 01844 213007 or fill out the form HERE and we will get back to you swiftly!
So if any of you see Harry, can you point him in our direction please!!

‘I have a moustache, I might as well raise some money with it!’: Woman who has to shave beard every day ditches razor for Movember
Source: the Daily Mail – read full article HERE
- Movember fundraiser Sarah O’Neill, 29, from Hull, has unwanted facial hair that used to embarrass her – and brother even called her Mac3, after the razor!
- Now she wants to banish the myth that only men grow moustaches
Stop the press! We can help here!….Surely women are not willing to put up with their facial hair? We can understand people raising money for a great cause, but really!
This is a bit of a sensitive subject, (and one that many women do not like to admit to), but we have to face facts that many women do have facial hair and some even have to shave daily to remove it! However, help is at hand!
At MBNS clinic in Thame we have a fantastic treatment called Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL). This treatment uses light waves to remove hair permanently at the follicle in a few sessions spaced 6 weeks apart. You can finally say “NO MORE” to plucking, shaving, waxing or in-grown hairs!
In order to have great results in permanent hair removal, you need to check the following guidelines:
1. The hair needs to have some pigment (colour) to it so it can be seen by the light
2. Your skin must be tan free and fake tan free
3. You must stop taking St John’s Wort a month prior to treatment ( it can make the skin sensitive to the light)
Most skin types are successful with IPL treatment and we treat body hair also. These treatments ( such as underarm or bikini areas) are spaced 12 weeks apart. Here’s an interesting fact:
Did you know that an actual hair cycle on the face is 6 weeks and on the body it is 12 weeks?
Many may think that their hair grows quicker than that, as they seem to be plucking daily, but IPL treatments kills the whole hair cycle. So once treated , the hair falls out over the next 2 to 10 days, then you are hair free until the next hair cycle starts. The treatments are 6 weeks apart for the face and 12 weeks apart for the body, which means you are getting to the root of the problem (pardon the pun) and the results are permanent!
So if you would like to find out more about permanent hair removal, kindly call us now on 01844 213007 or fill out the form HERE and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Unsightly facial hair can be a thing of the past – and our nurse specialists are here to help you today! We do have a few appointment spaces before Christmas left to fill, so start your New Year’s resolution early and let waxing and plucking and even shaving be a thing of the past!

Distraught parents’ anger after doctors failed to spot 33 year-old daughter’s skin cancer two years before she died –
Article excerpt from the Daily Mail: Lianne Gosling was a ‘very regular’ sunbed user who topped up her tan as often as she could, sometimes a few times a week. She was diagnosed with malignant melanoma just before Christmas last year after finding a suspicious mole in her eyebrow. The mole was surgically removed and doctors thought she would recover, but the cancer spread around her body and she died last month. Doctors believe sunbed use was the prime reason for Lianne’s death. Many people like the look of tanned skin, it makes them feel better and healthier. That sun kissed glow seems to go hand in hand with holidays parties and fun! Well that Christmas season is upon us now and many of us will be wanting to dress up on our slinky LBD complete with the accessory of lovely bronzed skin. The way to achieve this look though, should never be via sunbed use. So many think that the use of sunbeds are safe and controlled, but the facts are that they are extremely dangerous and can lead to skin cancer. As you can see from the article above, this young mother used a sunbed frequently, and unfortunately she developed a malignant melonoma. What a terribly sad and tragic event for her family. A beautician was sentenced to 150 hours’ community work yesterday for lying to Botox clients that she qualified at Harley Street. Customers thought they were getting a bargain price at £90 a session but in reality Jamie Winter was using cheap Botox that she had bought on the internet.
MBNS have 5 experienced nurse profesionals who can safely administer wrinkle relaxing treatments.
This story was reported in the Daily Mail today. It details how a beautician (not a medical professional such as an aesthetic nurse or doctor) injected Botox, but was not properly trained to do so. She lied about her qualifications and put her clients’ safety as risk.
I know I have blogged about this subject previously, but it is crucial that when a person is researching where to go for treatment such as Botox or Dermal Fillers that they seek a professional: a nurse or doctor – one who is medically trained to administer the treatment and one who is able provide medical follow up treatment and advice.
We here at MBNS have five experienced nurse practitioners and have been in the aesthetic business for over 17 years. We have over 5000 patients on our database and our nurses train other medical practitioners in this field also.
It is crucial that when a person is researching where to go for treatment such as Botox or Dermal Fillers that they seek an experienced professional
Do be aware that if pricing is low, the expertise of the practitioner is most probably low too! Botox is a POM (prescription only medicine) and you are required to see a nurse prescriber face to face to obtain it. Only after your full medical history is taken and you are fit and well can you go ahead and have treatment. It is not ethical to discount this treatment also.
Do your research, and then do please call us on 01844 213007 to book a consultation with one of our specialist nurse team. Alternatively you can fill out the form by clicking HERE and we will get back to you swiftly.
We look forward to making you look your natural best. Rest assured you are in safe hands at MBNS Clinic in Thame.

iS Clinical’s range also for Cancer care
At MBNS we love the iS Clinical range of products, but did you know that the serums provide skincare solutions also for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment? Many of the formulas not only help create vibrant and healthy skin, they also address important issues such as acne, chafing, uneven complexion, burns and scar tissue.
The iS Clinical line of products contain extremely powerful botanical antioxidants to protect against free-radical damage generated by the environment and as a result of certain cancer treatment therapies. Medical literature gives overwhelming support to using antioxidants during cancer therapy. They have been shown to improve the outcome of cancer treatments and to reduce the side effects from such treatments. The iS Clinical products also combine ingredients that strengthen cellular health and integrity (such as Vitamin B5 found in Hydra Cool Serum) and increase micro-circulation (as in Vitamin B3 and Green Tea found in Poly Vitamin Serum and the Fire and Ice Medical Facial masques ). They utilise proven cancer preventative ingredients (including Vitamin C and Rosemary found in Pro Heal Serum and the Fire and Ice Facial) and they offer the safest, most advanced forms of UV protection.
If you would like to find out more about the iS Clinical range of products, kindly give us a call to arrange a consultation with one of our specialist nurses on 01844 213007 or fill out the form by clicking HERE and we will get back to you swiftly!

Skin tags are very common, around two thirds of men and women will have at least one skin tag somewhere on their body before they reach the age of 65.
They are found on areas such as the neck, underarm, groin and underneath the bust line.
Some people are more prone to skin tags, either for hereditary reasons or potentially because they are overweight.
However they are generally caused by friction or by the skin being rubbed so for example, a necklace or shirt could eventually cause a small skin tag on the neck area or tight-fitting underwear could result in a skin tag on the bra line or groin area.
Skin tags are generally flesh coloured and have a stalk, resembling a mushroom.
We use a procedure using a cautery device. It is a safe and inexpensive way to get rid of the offending skin tags.
Here at MBNS , we not only remove skin tags, but also milia (milk spots) and moles. We do ask that the mole has been checked by the GP so that it is safe to be removed beforehand.
We use a procedure using a cautery device. It is a safe and inexpensive way to get rid of the offending skin tags. We charge £100 for this simple, effective treatment.
The technique involves using a minute, sterile probe to shave the skin tag from the surface of the skin. It is a quick procedure and several skin tags can be treated in one short session. Although the treatment can feel stingy, it is quite tolerable, with no discomfort afterwards. We apply an anesthetic cream prior to treatment for comfort.
If you would like to book a consultation with one of our specialist nurses regarding skin tag removal or any other of our treatments including: wrinkle reduction, dermal fillers or permanent hair reduction to name a few, please kindly call our clinic on 01844 213007 to speak to us or fill out the form by clicking HERE and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
