The time has come for some anti-ageing treatments!
The Summer is coming to an end and although we didn’t have fantastic weather, there was still lots of sun around. I went to Cornwall with the family which had a mixed bag of weather and a week in Italy where we had glorious weather. I looked in the mirror this morning, (and yes I was using a magnifying mirror and the lighting was good), but I could see all the sun effects on my skin, despite my generous applications of SPF 30. There was freckling with a new crop on the edge of my lips and a few dry patches across my cheeks. So some autumn treatments are required.
Read on for some autumn tips!
To start with a fire and ice medical facial, which is a very light peel and will help to speed up the shedding of the dry skin cells, and make my skin smoother and more hydrated. Skin takes a little time to settle but I should see the improvement in only 48 hours. Then up to three treatments of skin rejuvenation (4 weeks apart) using Intense pulsed light which will tackle the pigment and also the few veins I have round my nose which I’ve been meaning to get treated. Skin rejuvenation can also stimulate collagen cells so skin looks firmer. With some Hydro Cool from the Is Clinical range which is liquid hylaronic acid, the same molecular structure of the fillers we use, which will hydrate the skin on the surface. If needed dry skin can also be hydrated by injecting small amounts of Vital, part of the Q-Med Restylane range into upper dermis of the skin, which gives a wonderful feel and look to the skin. That will correct the Summer’s effects and soon it will be winter weather…..!

iS Clinical’s Super Serum Advance for scarring – the answer I was looking for!
I was constantly in search of a new and improved method of reducing and healing my scars and now help has arrived in the form of iS Clinical‘s Super Serum. Let me explain: I am sadly one of those people who scar easily and often! I love to get out racing on my roadbike for miles and miles but have though, on occasion, literally ‘hit the road’ a couple of times which has left me bruised, grazed and unfortunately, scarred.
is Clinical’s super serum advance is perfect for healing scar tissue
I have been using the iS CLinical range of products for a while now and my skin is in great condition. I did not realise though that before my very eyes was Super Serum. I was using this for hyperpigmention (brown spots on my skin), but did not know that it was also effective in removing hypotrophic scar tissue. Super Serum significantly increases collagen productions, safely lightens skin and effectively treats hyperpigmentation, hypertrophic scar tissue and fine stretch marks. Now for the science bit!: It contains ‘time-release L ascorbic acid (in a 15 percent concentration) plus copper tripeptide growth factor which maximizes performance.
I have noticed a significant difference in my scar tissue after only 12 weeks of use by applying a very small amount of Super Serum Advance, once a day, to the area, and the results are fantastic!

Lycogel covers cosmetic injection bruises! A week ago I had a cosmetic injection treatment to my eye area and although I have had several of these treatments over the last few years, on this occasion unfortunately I got a bruise*.
Now for those of you who know me I am the advanced nurse practitioner at MBNS clinic in Thame near Oxford, and my appearance is as important to me as it is to my clients. So what can be done to camouflage this bruise? Really simply, I used the Lycogel camouflage makeup that is sold at MBNS.
If you should find yourself with a bruise please telephone the clinic on 01844 213007 or drop in to see Angela who will show you how to apply the Lycogel or will send you a trial size in the post. Lycogel is waterproof and you can even swim in it and it will not rub off.
So no, a bruise does not spoil the results of a cosmetic treatment, because the good results last for several months far out weighing a week of bruising. Cosmetic injections include, Botox, dermal fillers, Restylane, Belotero, Voluma, and Radiesse.
So what if I get a bruise?
•A bruise is a cosmetic inconvenience & will usually take four to ten days to fade. It is usually nothing to worry about, unless the bruise is extremely painful. At MBNS we are always happy to make time for our patients to call into the clinic for advice & reassurance if they feel concerned about any aspect of their treatment.
The risk of bruising can be minimised by avoiding alcohol the night before treatment, avoiding anti-inflammatory medicines such as Ibuprofen as well as high dose Vitamin E supplements. People who smoke are also more liable to bruise. In addition as we get older, we are all more prone to bruising. Knowing that we have experience in camouflaging & stock the best camouflages, will ultimately assure you that MBNS offers the best of nursing care & understanding.
