Obagi Factor 50 Sun protection – the best choice when travelling abroad.
I have decided that Obagi factor 50 sun protection is the best choice when travelling to far off places1 I have recently returned from an amazing trip to India. I say amazing but it had equal measures of awful in it as well! Amazing because of the sights, the colours and the lovely people but awful because at the same time, the poverty, smells and rubbish were difficult to cope with. It was at the height of their summer and around 40 degrees most of the time but with Obagi SPF 50 for my face, and the fact that you keep your shoulders and down to your ankles covered, I didn’t get any sun damage! When I was planning my holiday wardrobe – normally its about how little to wear to keep you cool – I panicked that I would be so hot with all those clothes. Actually cool cotton absorbs the sweat and protects your skin from those harsh rays. So maybe thats how I will tackle my holidays in future, but perhaps it wouldn’t look as good in Italy!

As I, Adrian Baker, anxiously opened the De Montfort University results page at the Qutis Abingdon clinic, my heart began to pound, my blood pressure rose and I became nauseous. Fortunately this was short lived and I had no need to start medication for myself! I had passed my Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification with 94% on my Pharmacology exam!! Thank Florence Nightingale for that!
For the past six months I have been studying to become an Independent Nurse Prescriber, and boy has it been hard work! Crying, stress and despair are all words that spring to mind, and that was just from my husband and wonderful work colleagues at MBNS/Qutis that had to support me through it! On that note, I would like to thank Marea Brennan-Thorns in particular for the expert knowledge and guidance that she has given me throughout the course. Also, the whole wonderful MBNS team for being so understanding and supportive when parts of the course became particularly difficult to manage. I couldn’t have done it without you all!
I am so pleased that I will be of to benefit to patients of MBNS and Qutis Clinics, being able offer more prescription consultations for the aesthetic procedures we do, increasing the flexibility and availability for patients.

Adrian Baker is not only an RN, but now NIP (Nurse Independant Prescriber!)
We here at MBNS and Qutis Clinics are so proud of our Nurse colleague, Adrian Baker who has recently received a mark of 94% in his Nurse Prescriber Examination. This is no mean feat and is recognised as a very difficult qualification. Well done Adrian on this great achievement and once again the nurse team at MBNS & Qutis are leading the way in independent nurse led teams.

With all the excitement of the Olympics coming to London this Summer, a concern has come to surface in regards to some Athletes’ fitness, not their bodies, but in fact their skin! Did you know skin problems rank among athletes’ most common complaints? From dry skin to even skin cancer?
From cyclists to swimmers, every athletic category has its potential for skin problems. Skin conditions are an increasing cause of medical problems for Olympic athletes and can be harmful and even prohibitive for competition.
We at MBNS are very interested in keeping current with everything skin related and so we have compiled a short list of how we (not just the athletes) can protect our skin and keep us all going for gold with a great skincare regime – a regime which is as important as training the body to being the best it can be.
So here are some Important things to remember!
1. Wear a suncreen at all costs….iS Clinical’s SPF is perfect to protect against the sun and also reduces redness should you become over exposed to the sun’s rays. It also acts as a great moisuriser.
2. A well-balanced diet helps insure that your body gets all the vitamins it needs to maintain healthy skin, muscles and bones!
3. The following nutrients help the life of your skin and the fantastic iS Clinical range is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins to feed and protect it daily:
- Vitamin A – Helps maintain healthy, smooth skin (found in iS Clinical’s Poly Vitamin Serum) and Youth Eye Complex
- Vitamin E – great for cellular renewal and found in iS Clinical’s Super Serum
- Vitamin B6 – Helps prevent skin disorders and cracks around the mouth (found in iS Clinical’s Youth Complex)
- Vitamin C – is a potent antioxidant with photo protective properties which keeps skin smooth – found in iS Clinical’s Pro Heal Serum

- And finally…..
- Remember to drink plenty of water!

I have just started my exciting new job with MBNS on Saturdays as receptionist and I can honestly say it’s been a pleasure! I am working with a great team in a calming, inviting atmosphere.
Being a previous patient , I can really understand why our regular existing patients are loyal and want to keep coming back! Having so much to offer here, its amazing how you feel when you leave!
I have just experienced my first treatment of IPL hair removal on only one of my underarms, as I wanted to see the difference as the hair grew back. After only one treatment I was shocked to see such a huge difference. Only a few hairs came back through. They seemed to be much thinner and that ghastly dark shadow was gone!
The treatment took a short time of only 10 minutes with little discomfort, as the area was numbed with ice beforehand and I also had lovely cold air blowing on to the area whilst Marea treated me.
Now I am totally converted to IPL hair removal, it definately beats shaving or waxing! It’s a well worth investment to be completely hair free. I am very excited to have the rest of my underarm hair removal treatments done!
