Acne, Psoriasis and Rosacea update!

October 26th, 2011

Last week I went to Manchester to attend a dermatology meeting run by the British Dermatology Nursing Group, which I became a member of in the summer. It was my first meeting with the group and I was keen to go as I wanted to further my knowledge of acne and skin cancers. Both of these topics come up frequently during my working week at MBNS, either treating or advising on skin health.

I was the only aesthetic nurse there, the others all being from the NHS working in dermatology. It was good to mix with my peers and exchange experiences and support. I do feel I have furthered my knowledge of both subjects and also learnt a little about psoriasis. Although we don't see as much of this in the clinic, only two days later I was able to give away some free sample lotions and information on different emolliants to a patient who had come in about something completely different but who was bothered by her psoriasis and hadn't known what to apply. So hopefully my increased knowledge of acne and skin cancers will benefit more of our patients.

Financial Assistance with an MBNS 0% Payment Plan

My body hair is the bane of my life – I am constantly waxing, plucking, and shaving in my attempt to try and stay silky smooth and feminine…… which is a goal I never seem to achieve!

I have now discovered Permanent Hair Removal at MBNS Clinic in Thame; I have always dismissed this idea in the past assuming that it would financially out of reach, however at MBNS they offer 0% interest payment plans that can be tailored to meet your specific treatment requirements. In my case, this was multiple area treatment for Permanent Hair Removal.

MBNS is also now open 2 late nights a week and Saturdays, which suits my working schedule perfectly. They really do think of everything don’t they?

iS Clinical Perfect Tint!

October 3rd, 2011

I am just back from a delightful two weeks sailing holiday meandering around the Greek Islands on a beautiful 50 foot yacht called the Kassandra.   Even though we expected cooler weather during September, Greece was still basking in 30 degrees of hot sunshine!   As usual after a few days, I felt relaxed and this was aided by my confident use of the iS Clinical Perfect Tint Sunscreen; a naturally tinted suntan coloured SPF giving my pre-holiday white legs an immediate healthy tanned glow with a broad spectrum sunscreen of 25.  And when my husband accidently burned his back, I applied this same cream as it has a wonderful anti-inflammatory components. His redness reduced overnight happily!   By the way, I hardly needed any make up either…got my eyelashes enhanced and my semi-permanent eyeliner just before I left!
